The Saints have the highest position in the cosmos. The only meaningful existence is that of a saint. To become a saint, one should therefore seek refuge in God.
But, here is a question that one asks: is the attainment a result of one's own efforts, God's mercy, or a combination of both? If it is said that it is due to God's grace, then God's grace is always infinite on everyone. So why doesn't everyone attain sainthood? And if it's by effort, then why doesn't everyone try to become a saint?
The answer is that attainment of sainthood is achieved only by the grace of God. In fact, only god-realized men are called saints.
