'Shiv Purana' is a major and well-known Purana, in which there is a detailed description of the essence, mystery, glory, and worship of the 'Shiva' (Kalyankari) form of Parabrahm Parmeshwar.
Lord Shiva is not only a mythological deity, but he is the chief among the five gods, the eternally perfect God and the Mahadev glorified in all the scriptures, etc. Vedas have glorified this Supreme Tattva by calling him avyakt, unborn, the cause of all, the creator of the universe, the foster, and the destroyer. The Shrutis have always praised Shiva by calling him Swayambhu, calm, perfect, transcendent, Paratpar, Paramatattva, the supreme Maheshwar of even Gods. The meaning of 'Shiva' itself is 'Kalyanswaroop' and 'Kalyanpradata'.
Worship of this kalyan form of Param Brahm is extremely auspicious, supremely beneficial, omniscient, and best suited for all high-end siddhas, self-welfare seekers, and common believers. It is mentioned in the scriptures that not only Dev, Danuj, Rishi, Maharishi, Yogindra, Munindra, Siddha, Gandharva, but even Brahma and Vishnu worship these Mahadevs. According to this Purana, this Purana is the most excellent scripture.
It should be understood as the external form of Lord Shiva on this ground floor and should be consumed by all means. The reading and hearing of this is by all means its entirety. With this, a person who has reached the highest position after getting Shiva devotion, soon attains the position of Shiva.
That is why human beings have desired to read this Purana by making full efforts – or have considered its study as the desired means. Similarly, listening to it with love is also the giver of all the desired results. By listening to this Purana of Lord Shiva, a person becomes free from all sins, and after enjoying the great and great pleasures in this life, he finally attains Shivaloka. This book named Shivpuran is comprised of twenty four thousand verses. This divine Shiva Purana consisting of seven codes is situated like Parabrahma Paramatma and is the best giver of speed.
