Description

Markandeya Purana is considered to be one of the oldest Puranas. In this, as in the Rigveda, all the deities such as Agni, Indra, Surya, and others are discussed. From time beginning, the divine discussion has been explained in detail on how our daily activities should be done, how should we live at home, and what should be our daily routine? It also includes the divine character of Bhagwati Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati, also known as Durga Saptashati.

The Madalasa character is also described in it. The story of Atri Anusuiya is also described in it, we can also see the beautiful character of Dattatreya inside it.

Markandeya Purana is written in Sanskrit by Shri Vedavyasji, is part of the Purana series, and recounts the glory of shakti. The divine scripture of Hinduism contains 900 verses. It is broken down into 137 chapters.

From one to forty-two chapters, the speaker is Jaimini, and the listeners are birds; from 43 to 90 chapters, the speaker is Markandeya, and the listener is Pratopihi; and after that, the speaker of the later part is Sumedha, and the listener is Surat Samadhi. Thus, the Markandeya Purana is small, but the information contained within it is divine and rare.
