There are nearly 4000 houses in Shani Shignapur, a small village of Maharashtra and there no doors or locks in these houses. There are only door frames, but no doors or locks. This is because the villages have a lot of faith in the presiding deity of the village: Lord Shani.
As per legends, a large black stone landed on the riverbank of Panasnala River of Maharashtra. A local shepherd found it and poked it with a sharp rod and blood started oozing out of it. Later that night, Lord Shani appeared in his dream and told him that the black stone was Lord Shani and he wanted the villagers to place the stone in the middle of the village so that he could monitor everyone in the village and protect them from any danger.
It's said that ever since then, Lord Shani has been presiding in Shani Shignapur and protecting the villagers from any theft, burglary or danger. That is why, there are no doors or locks in the houses of Shani Shignapur.

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि तब से, भगवान शनि शनि शिंगणापुर में विराजमान हैं और ग्रामीणों को किसी भी चोरी या खतरे से बचाते हैं। इसलिए शनि शिगनापुर के घरों में दरवाजे या ताले नहीं होते हैं।
